As part of our upcoming For Those Who Grieve service (Sunday, November 30 at 6 pm in the Worship Center), we will be decorating a Memorial Tree with special ribbons. These ribbons represent loved ones who have died and are intended to be personalized to include a name of someone you have lost. During the service, we will have a moment where each person will be invited to bring their ribbon forward and place it on the Memorial Tree. This tree will be a new addition to the decorations in the sanctuary and will remain through Christmas as a reminder for us all to hold and remember those who are walking with loss through this season.
We are asking for a $5 donation for each ribbon to support our Memorial Fund. This Memorial Fund provides flowers and other forms of care for church members experiencing loss throughout the year. Please order your Memorial Ribbon to be personalized by Tuesday, November 25.
While we will have personalized ribbons ready for the service on the 30th, we will also have blank ribbons to be used that evening and personalized afterwards.
Checks may be written to GBC for $5/ribbon with “Memorial Fund” in memo.
