Here’s a list of the projects for this fall:
Helping Hands Baby Bags – We are preparing baby bags for the Wedco health department. In each bag we are putting a pack of diapers, wipes, baby lotion, body wash, nail clippers, thermometer, suction bulb, baby blanket, and a sleeper or gown.
AMEN House – They have the good “problem” of having received a large amount of clothing donations. The activity at the work site will primarily be opening bags of donated clothes and sorting and folding. Good for all ages.
Community Garden – We will be harvesting vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Pruning fruit trees (please bring a hand saw), weeding, general cleanup, and preparation for fall and winter.
Elizabeth’s Village - We plan to work 2 sites: the clothing closet & the Transitional Home. At the clothing closet we will be painting walls for 1 large room (above Abby Mae’s boutique off Main Street). Need more experienced volunteers for this. At the Transitional Home on College Street we plan to do yard work. Mow, trim bushes & trees, pick up trash, rake leaves (if there are any), tidy up the playground & plant flowers in the pots.
The Gathering Place – We will be doing some indoor painting on a room and restroom as part of their ongoing renovations in celebration of the 10 year anniversary.
Senior Citizen Projects – We will be doing various projects for senior adults in our congregation.
